چکیده

Material mechanical behavior is critical for both safety and economic considerations. Because engineering items are manufactured using appropriate grade materials, approval of the materials used must be completed before assembly. Petrochemicals, marine, biomaterials just a few industries that use stainless steel. Despite its extensive use, structural failure still frequently caused by inadequate steel type selection. As result, dangerous conditions, resulting in personal harm or financial loss. Dangerous conditions might result accidents, injury Martensite with high strength value but brittle, necessitating careful handling. Intergranular corrosion, sensitization, tempering heat treatment, Ductile to Brittle Transition Temperature (DBTT) topics working on researchers.

Determination of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion and electrochemical reactivation behaviour of AISI 316L type stainless steel

In this study, double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DLEPR) test was applied to determine the degree of sensitization in 316L type stainless steel, where obtained results were correlated with revealed microstructures after oxalic acid test and weight loss measurements of Streicher and Huey acid tests. Best agreement was provided with test parameters which are 1 M H2SO4 and 0...

Effect of Constraint on Ductile Crack Growth and Ductile-Brittle Fracture Transition of a carbon Steel

Ductile-brittle fracture transition was investigated using compact tension (CT) specimens from -70 o C to 40 o C for a carbon steel. Large deformation finite element analysis has been carried out to simulate the stable crack growth in the compact tension (CT, a/W=0.6), three point-point bend (SE(B), a/W=0.1) and centre-cracked tension (M(T), a/W=0.5) specimens. Experimental crack tip opening di...

Study of the corrosion behaviour of S32101 duplex and 410 martensitic stainless steel for application in oil refinery distillation systems

The corrosion behaviour of S32101 duplex and 410 martensitic stainless steel was studied through weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization in 1–6 M HCl solutions. Results show that S32101 steel has significantly lower corrosion rates than 410 steel from both tests at all concentrations with highest values of 0.04586 mm/y and 0.234 mm/y in comparison to martensitic steel with corrosion rates ...

Influence of Laser Ablation on Stainless Steel Corrosion Behaviour

Laser ablation is the method for material removing from a surface using pulsed lasers. It is used for surface structuring, laser drilling or laser marking. A change of the corrosion behavior of a base material caused by thermal effects during laser processing is an important problem of this technology. Possibilities of surface modification of stainless steel using laser ablation are presented i...

Electrochemical Characterization of a Martensitic Stainless Steel

This paper focused on the characterization of electrochemical behavior of a martensitic stainless steel in the acidic solutions. For this purpose, electrochemical parameters were derived from potentiodynamic polarization, Mott Schottky analysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. The potentiodynamic polarization results showed that corrosion current density of AISI 420 ...
